Read and understand the printed serigraphy on the extinguisher
The serigraphy has 2 printed zones
- The zone within the frame
- The zone outside the frame
The zone within the frame This zone is divided in maximum 5 horizontal parts (from top to bottom).
This printed zone is part of the reglementation of the norm EN3.
Part 1 - Identification of the type of extinguisher (powder, water etc)
- Mass or volume and type of agent of extinguisher (1kg BC, 2kg ABC, etc)
- Performance of extinguisher (8A, 34B, etc)
Part 2 - Text and pictograms describing the correct usage of the extinguisher
- Pictograms of classes of fire of the extinguisher
Part 3 - Precautions to take in case of electric fire (facultative part)
Part 4 - General technical information (this part can eventually be located outside the frame).
- Type of extinguisher, type of powder, type of gas, limitation of usage temperatures, number of homologation etc…
Part 5 - Identification of the producer or the brand owner having obtained the authorization from the certification organizations.
Remark : a serigraphy can consist out of several languages.
The external zone of the frame - Date of production of the extinguisher
- Date of validity (in line with the national requirements)
- Conformity CE (MED if applicable)
- All other complementary informations (Free)
